Update: The new Twilight Hack works again!

Okay, guys, Nintendo released a new Wii System Menu update. Although all previous updates were this time I (Link) personally recommend you NOT TO install it.

I’ll copy some data from GBATemp simple because it’s the truth:

Current Info:
1. Will not brick
2. Deletes the Twilight Hack
3. Does not effect unofficial channels (Homebrew or VC)
4. May effect other-region stuff (Partly confirmed)
5. If you want homebrew on your wii and don't have it yet, do not install this update.
6. Wakinoko's save installer is unknown to force the twilight hack save over (Unconfirmed)

And whoever made that picture at GBATemp wins an award:
H4X

Anyway, back to business: Points 2 and 5 are the most critical points. If you want to use homebrew on your Wii you need to use the Twilight Hack. Users of modchips can theoretically also use the Trucha Hack to create fake signed discs but according to my information even those are blocked so to make it short: if you updated and have not installed the Homebrew Channel which is unaffected (see point 3) by the update - then for now you’re absolutely out of luck.

Therefore.. users already able to run homebrew using the homebrew channel. It’s your decision to update - yet I personally do not recommend it.

And while we’re on topic: WiiRd progress
To make it short: development is a little out of schedule but it’s doing great process. Nuke, the main developer of the USBGecko is working on Gecko OS which will be used as the WiiRd loader. It is even planned to come as its own channel!
