I apologize if this isn't the right place to ask this, or if the information is elsewhere, but I simply can't find it.

What is required to use Gamecube cheats with Gecko OS? Does it require a USB Gecko, or is the Gecko OS itself enough? How are Gamecube cheats used and created? Are they related to Action Replay codes? Can they be converted from them? And, if the answers to any of these questions are "no", could someone please provide a basic explanation as to why not?

Any answers along these lines would be much appreciated.

gamecube cheats in gecko os requires usbgecko unfortunately, but this doesn't mean you can't cheat with gamecube cheats on the wii. Simply look up "Action Replay 1.08 Loader" on google and look for the result that has "eurasia" in the link. This will be homebrew that will allow you to load gamecube games with cheats, as long as u have a gamecube memory card (that has enough leftover memory) in slot b. You do not need an action replay memory card at all. Unfortunately, the homebrew requires modification to the MIOS, which I think is some type of security for gamecube games on the wii system. Doing this is simple, just google or search on youtube "MIOS Patching Wad Installer" and search for instructions and tutorials on doing this. Modifying or replacing the MIOS might require you to downgrade to 3.2, so this WONT work on newer wiis unless there is a new MIOS patch. Also, the MIOS patch will disable video for gamecube games if u play them normally (as in using the disc channel to load them), so the only way to play gamecube games without cheats after installing the mios patch would be to load gamecube games using the action replay loader. So, what wii firmware do you have? (The number for the firmware shows up in the upper right corner in the wii settings). Also, do u have a newer wii that came with 4.2 firmware?
