Hey, first time poster, and apparently a total noob at doing this kind of thing.

I've been trying to no avail to create a .gct file for Mega Man 10 (Title ID is WRXE) but am encountering a major problem. No application I've located will let me MAKE the file!

WiiCM will crash any time I attempt to make a .gct file out of the codes downloaded from the WiiRD database (which are in the correct format, so I know this isn't the cause of the crash), similar Wii side programs are crashing just by loading them.

The old PC side code manager made for Ocarina is also not working, because this particular program will only consider a Title ID valid if it is 6 characters in length. So...yeah.

How do I make a working .gct file for Mega Man 10 or another Wiiware title?!

For an app on the Wii side, you could try this. If I remember correctly, it worked for me with a 4 char title ID.

The programs to download and convert to gct codes for Gecko OS are Code Downloader and Code Manager available at wiibrew.org in the applications section. Make sure you are using Gecko OS 1.9.3.1 and download codes to a folder called txtcodes on the root of your sd card with code downloader. Then use code manager to convert them into gct files in another file called codes also on the root of your sd card. All of this is done in HBC not on the PC. Also if you are on system version 3.2 or higher then you are going to have to TBR (Truch Bug Restorer) your IOS 36 to enable the use of the WW/VC channel option in Gecko OS or any other cheat engine. If any part of this doesn't make sense to you or you do not know what the terms mean then do not do this by yourself. It is dangerous and can Brick your Wii. Get help either from me or people on this forum or at wiibrew.org's forums. I suggest you read everything you can on each application I mentioned and on HBC itself and on IOSes so you know what you are doing and what and how to ask questions if you have any. I have written several lenghty posts on this site and on wiibrews forums on how to restore ww/vc channel so search for those posts if you want to re enable that option. As for setting up your SD card correctly with the right folders and apps that should be self explanatory once you read about the apps on their app pages and their readme files when you download them. If you need further help feel free to ask. Hope this help.

Sincerely,
Elmoreas

P.S. Dont use ocarina it is out of date as a stand alone app use Gecko OS it has ocarina built in plus other features. Both require TBR for systems 3.2+ though for ww/vc channel.

Search for codemanager 1.2 (the PC app), it adds wiiware and VC support. don't use the cheat manager (on the wii), it sux. If you get problems loading channels (like I had yesterday Tongue) that's another thing entirely.
